This page explains what happens to information when you use newsprintpaper.design. The short version is that the calculators send nothing anywhere, and the only data collected at all comes from advertising and basic server logs.
What the calculators do with what you type
Nothing leaves your browser. Every calculation on this site runs on your own device in JavaScript. When you choose a format, enter pixel dimensions or paste a draft into the words to pages estimator, that information is processed locally and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
The tools remember your last inputs using your browser's local storage, so the page is as you left it when you come back. That storage sits on your computer and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Server logs
Like almost every website, the server records basic technical information about requests: the page requested, the time, the browser's user agent string and the IP address the request came from. These logs are used to keep the site running and to investigate errors and abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you and they are not sold.
Advertising
This site is free and is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display adverts.
Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve adverts based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve adverts to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve adverts based on someone's previous visits to this website. We do not control these cookies and we do not have access to the information they collect. Google's own privacy and terms page describes how it handles data from sites that use its services.
Analytics
If analytics are in use on this site they are configured to anonymise IP addresses and are used only to understand which pages are read, in aggregate. No analytics service is given anything you type into a calculator, because that information never leaves your browser in the first place.
Cookies you can refuse
Nothing on this site requires cookies to function. The calculators work with cookies fully disabled. If you block advertising cookies you will still see adverts, but they will be non-personalised.
Children
This site is aimed at people preparing print files and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Links to other sites
Specification pages link to printers' own websites so you can verify figures at source. Those sites have their own privacy policies and this one does not apply to them.
Your rights
Because we hold no account data and no submitted content, there is generally nothing personal of yours for us to retrieve or delete beyond server logs. If you want to ask about data held about you, or request its deletion, email hello@newsprintpaper.design.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes to how advertising or data collection works will be described here rather than made quietly.
